About Map Your Next

A useful visit starts with a question.

Map Your Next is a project by Bruce and Angela Archer. We are building a planner to help you explore places, try everyday routines and keep what you learn before deciding what comes next.

What you can try today

This free preview includes five researched places in Upstate South Carolina, with source links, visit ideas and space for your own questions and notes. Other states let you make your own plan; researched local facts and activities are not supplied there yet.

You can plan for retirement, a move, exploration or a vacation. There is nothing to purchase and no account to create. Places are alternatives to explore, not a ranking of where you should live.

How we check facts

Fact cards link to their sources, including the U.S. Census Bureau and the relevant local organization. A source-check date tells you when we reviewed that published information. It does not turn a historical estimate into a current price or guarantee access on your travel dates.

Census housing and commute figures use the data period and geographic area shown with them. They are starting points for research, not personal quotes. Museum hours, visitor access and prices can change; check the linked organization before you go.

Visit questions and suggested activities are our editorial suggestions. Illustrations are labeled artwork, not photographs. Your impressions and decisions are your own.

When you add a question, it keeps the source information and purpose from that moment. Later source updates do not silently rewrite your saved question.

If you spot an error, tell us the place, fact or page and include a source if you have one. We will review it and correct the published information when needed.

Privacy and saved visits

Your draft: while you work, this tab keeps a temporary draft in browser session storage. Choose Save visit to store a visit online. Temporary draft storage is not a backup.

Your saved visit: our hosting service stores your plan, questions and notes in a database. This browser holds an access cookie, lasting up to one year, so it can reopen your visits. Anyone using the same browser profile can open them. There is no account recovery or automatic device synchronization.

Clearing browser data: this can remove your access to saved visits; it does not delete their online records. Download a visit backup before clearing browser data or changing devices. Open that backup to create a new draft on another device.

Sharing: anyone with a sharing link can view that copy of your plan, questions and notes. They cannot edit the original. Links expire after 30 days. Making a new link replaces the old one; later edits stay private until you share again. Turning sharing off stops access through that link, but cannot remove copies someone already downloaded.

Deleting: use Delete saved visit in Saved visits to remove the saved record and its sharing link. An open draft and downloaded copies remain. To clear the current draft too, choose Start over. If you lose browser access, contact us; we may need information to identify the record and verify your request, and cannot promise recovery.

Retention: saved visits have no automatic deletion schedule in this preview. Expired sharing records may remain stored even though their links no longer work. Do not use the planner to store sensitive personal, financial or medical details.

Service data: we use Cloudflare hosting and storage through Sites to operate the planner. The app uses a hashed network address temporarily to limit new-visit creation. Hosting providers also process technical request data. We do not run advertising trackers or product analytics in this preview.

Support email: if you email us, the support service retains your address, subject and bounded message text to handle your request. Automated replies are identified. Requests needing a person are forwarded to Bruce's private support inbox. No AI service receives your email text. Support records have no automatic deletion schedule; you can ask us to remove them.

Contact

Questions, corrections or help with a saved visit: support@map-your-next.com.

The first reply may be automated. Ask for a person if you need help beyond it. Include the page or place and what happened; avoid sensitive details and do not send private sharing links unless needed.
